AITOOW is perplexed that on air wonks can't fathom why Democrats aren't getting credit for the legislation they passed this year? Do you mean to tell me that they really don't get why the populace would fail to give credit to a health care bill that they didn't want in large numbers and was passed using bribes to specific constituencies and administrative tricks. Not to mention the accounting tricks, under forecasting the costs, spending money we don't have and doing nothing about containing costs. That they didn't get credit for the BP Oil Spill reaction/supervision? That they didn't get credit for re-establishing welfare? That they didn't get credit for letting states off the hook for budget cuts? That they didn't get credit for subsidizing unions through the "stimulus"? That they didn't get credit for "cash for clunkers" which drove up the price of used cars and did next to nothing for the environment? That they didn't get credit for "fixing" the consumer credit sector in which banks now raised interest rates to offset all the other "fixes". I can't go on. How out of touch/tone deaf can they be.

AITOOW was so thrilled that Google "invented" something (Google TV) that was invented in the mid-90's? I put it right up there with Facebook (Friendster/Any Intranet), Ipod (Rio MP3 Player), Windows (Apple OS), Excel (Lotus), and Google itself (Yahoo) and its click through advertising (Overture).

Rush To Judgement

AITOOW thought Rush Limbaugh's critique against tree huggers could just as easily have been brought against religious adherents or patriots or most anyone? We are all trying to derive meaning in a meaningless farce. It's not just the Greenies who are being manipulated. It's not just they who need to feel they serve a purpose. At least some of them are keeping money out of the shit wiping claws of the Arabian Penninsula. That said, they are dupes and cap and trade is stupid and climate change is natural.
