Gig-iddy Gigiddy

AITOOW wonders if it is a good thing we are opening the economy to things like iber and airbnb? On one hand they add supply. On the other, they seem to be more or just as expensive. And they can be less "good". People in third world communities have gypsy cabs and boarding houses. Are we regressing? Sounds like Cuba. I've heard non-pros are opening up "pop up" dining. Didn't these businesses used to be called "favors"? I'll give you a ride. Stat at my place. Come on over for dinner. Is this the result of people having no roots? Now we must pay for these things? Is that healthy? It so funny that every issue seems to be a trade off. No yes or no answer. Opening things up can lead to more competition which can cause the entrnched infrastructure to innovate and improve. Or it can cause a deterioration in both due to the lack of "professionalism/over sight. Licensing can create a base line or be used to entrench an unresponsive industry. It can lower cost or increase it because of additional up front costs to compete and lower profit margins and wasted supply. Ahh, the world of commerce. So many ways to view it. I guess the real winner is the tax man. These companies shrink the "secret" economy.

Mouth Piece

AITOOW thinks it is funny that girls now wear more clothing on their face (without bitching) than on their ass? Vage and tits are about equal.

The Right (Handed) Stuff

AITOOW wonders why baseball teams want a diversified line up? If all the other teams have half lefty and half righty pitching staffs, wouldn't it make sense to have ALL righty or ALL lefty hitters? Since they usually match up opposites, then you render half their staff unusable (or less advantaged). And with the three hitter rule, it can really cause a problem.

Fury and Sound

AITOOW thinks that Trump's speech which led to an impeachment can be viewed through the lens of the "reasonable person" construct? It is a piece of legal gymnastics in place of a true standard. We pretend their is an empirically reasonable person out there whom will act in a way in which we may measure everyone else's behavior. I won't even begin to debate empiricism at this point. So, the right hears these words and expects a reasonable person to do what? Riot, loot, murder, maim, pillage? No. The right expects them to petition their representatives, cajole, shout, vote, sloganeer and maybe march. The wrong (aka left) hears words like this or less (maybe even uses supersonic hearing to hear a dog whistle) and is compelled to riot, loot, maim, murder and pillage. So, the difference is in us. Not the words. Personally I believe the right's definition seems a bit more reasonable. But, I'm no empiricist (used to be). Can't say what their definition would be (because it would basically be made up by men and not at all objective). And that is why we have such disparate views on Trump's speech. One side has been taught (maybe instinctual in people who become wrong) attack dogs at a command. One that does not. I reiterate that in a democracy, I believe the former is the standard we wshould prefer. I'll toss in the thought that we also have had four years plus of Trump's rhetoric. We get the subtext by now. We get what he is trying to say. We hear the sacasm and the irony and the rest. So, the thought that his speech was a catlyst to action has an even higher bar to cross than a most milquetoast politician's. If I was his defense team, I would have carved out thirty minutes for this argument and then showed montage after montage of the wrong speaking and inciting bad behavior juxtaposed with the right and nothing happening. Because the question wasn't whether people purportedly on the right acted reasonablly. But, whether the speech incited them to do it. The inference would be that the wrong's defintion of the reasonable person would have to be used. And that, I think, would have caused many Americans to rethink their opinion on which side is in their right state of mind.

Monkey Business

AITOOW thinks businesses have pivoted away from Caucasians? I think their metrics suggest that non-whites have reached a point where they are the more attractive market to market to. Their politics/ads/declarations sure seem to support that. We all know that you can't serve two masters. That or their management is really selling out shareholders to virtue signal. And I guess they aren't really selling out shareholders as more and more investment consortiums are pressuring compamies to virtue signal over conducting a profitable business.

The Island of Misfit Kids

AITOOW thinks kids are just broken products of the same dysfunctional assembly line inside the same moribund factory? And we get stuck fixing them. And I don't think they are any more "tolerant" or "inclusive" or "empathtetic" than previous generations. They are just more cowardly. Unwilling to question the status quo. Unwilling to voice their dissent. Can't we analyze them with lie detectors to see how they really feel?

Democratic Imp-unity

AITOOW thinks AOC (not the Australian Open) could be a Disney hero (like Kamel Toe) called the Snowflake Queen? Not because she is a Scheherazade type story teller who tries to snow the public with melodramatic tales, but, becasue she is what happens when you indulge children. Add on the usual pass large breasted women usually experience and you've got a real problem on your hands. Talk about priveleged. I also like that the new admin fakes like they are analyzing an issue when they have already decided on the outcome. You can use their "outcome" based standard to infer intent/guilt. Every result of everyone of their "objective" determinations will be what the admin's puppetmasters wanted them to be. Kind of like how the House conducts impeachment proceedings. In that regard, the DOD's investigations and morotorium is merely window dressing for a purge. Let us all guess what the outcome will be. remember this in a few weeks. And the "equity" push will be far from what anyone would consider equitable. I would expect that at worst this kind of discrimination would be limited to porportional representation. IE - blacks are at 13%. Their representation would be capped at that. If network news is any indication, those caps will be inverted. I assume they will use the remedial justification. Like slave state California and reparations. Oh wait, they weren't even a state then.

Neocon-struction

AITOOW thinks Republicans are being treated like the South during Renconstruction? And if they don't see what the reaction to being strong armed leads to after the capitol, I wonder if this isn't history in reverse.

Stars and Gripes

AITOOW would like to see a US flag with snowfakes instead of stars? A told a friend this and he said it should be half flakes and half stars.

Year of the Xi

AITOOW wonders if the protests in Hong Kong factored into China's opacity about Covid? They seem to be a country of Millenials. Hyper sensitive to any criticism. Always self interested, self assured and duplicitous. It seems to make them hug their knees and rock back and forth and then throw a vindictive passive aggressive temper tantrum. And wasn't too perfect that 2020 was year of the rat?

You've Come A Long Way Baby

AITOOW thinks it funny that rebellious women used to burn bras? Now they shame you into wearing one on your face. And is anyone suprised that Disney is trying to make a buck off of them?

Meatball Heroes

AITOOW has noticed that the new heros are just part of some group or fighters for their own comfort?
