AITOOW thinks that if you are going to get "lending" going again you have to de-couple it with mega-banking (investment and regular)? These guys make too much easy money dealing with Fortune 2000 companies to care about small business or mortgages. They dabbled when they could off load them but they have no interest in this business now (and that was before consolidation). They need it taken away from them before they destroy the economy. Let them concentrate on M&A, VC, PE, Financial Planning and Trading their own book.
This is partly why the TARP program didn't even "trickle". The pipes to the sewer are blocked. Now I don't know if the "Precedent" didn't anticipate this or it's part of a Machiavellian scheme to foster proletarian anger at the banking oligarchy, but, it happened. If he wants to fix it, he has to regulate or stimulate an alternative.

Wigging Out
AITOOW thinks SNL is overusing Kristen Wiig? She's ok. But, she is "every" sketch good. I see no reason she has to be in any sketch that doesn't include one of her characters. It's monotonous to see her saccharine face all the time and it stifles her cast member's growth.

This Is A Big Fucking Deal
AITOOW realized at the time that they were cutting their own throats? And now they don't even have that in their quiver. Their only hope for '12 is that Republicans go after Medicare or Social Security before '12. Obie goes home in '12 unless they let the Republican's have everything they want. Then he may stay on as a puppet. Nevertheless, their party reemerges in '16 after Republicans piss too many people off balancing the budget.

All zheimers
AITOOW has a memory? Richard Clarke and others have been banging the drum about cargo or bags not being scanned since 9/11. They told us a large amount of mortgages were going to reset after the economic collapse and that many people would probably default. Why can't even the media remember what it has reported on? Don't they have log books. Is the turn over that great? Are they that temporally challenged?
Here's a larger history lesson: Carter won because of Watergate. Reagan won because of the hostages. He won again because he borrowed his grand kids money and gave it to his selfish, baby boomer kids. Bush won because of Dukakis in a tank. Clinton won because Baby Boomers wanted to thumb their noses at daddy and Ross Perot. Clinton won again because of Silicon Valley and Bob Dole fell off a stage. Bush won because Clinton stuck a cigar up a fat girls cooch and Gore chose a Jew. Bush won again because of flip flops. Obama won because McCain looked like he could croak any moment and nobody trusted Palin with the keys. Plus white guilt made voting for a black man penance. And oh yeah the New Depression and IEDs.
In addition, can the "historians" remember this - every political campaign we say this is worse than ever. It is the same.

Car Pool Tunnel Syndrome
AITOOW thinks Ford's great turn around can be explained in three words? Toyota, Leases and Credits. Ford is doing better because the US government turned it's inspection spot light on non-US automakers, they get paid up front instead of spread out over time because no one can qualify for a lease and they carried forward losses from previous periods. That's a real, sustainable pattern.

Federalist Pipers
AITOOW thinks Hamilton, Madison and Jay would be happy that Tea Party adherents claim to care more about the collective Union than acquiring pork for their districts?

Poles
AITOOW wonders why Rasmussen polls seem to lean for the right wing candidate while the others lean left?
