Collect Calling

AITOOW wonders if a collectivist society can have a leader/leaders? If the goal is equality, how can any one be above another? Won't the most ambitious/selfish people gravitate towards those positions as they would in a capitalistic systems? Won't that reality or the reality that you need a personality type like that in that position promulgate citizens with that "prohibited" behavior? Can there be a leader of a collective? Are their leaders the least "pure" of the whole movement?
