Hawking Snake Oil

AITOOW doesn't see how wheel chair boy's proclamation that we don't need God to have a Universe still doesn't explain the origin of the forces that he says created the Universe? How is this progress? While I still God is a euphemism/place holder for all things we can't explain, I'm still at a loss to explain the origin of the first "step" and what created the thing that created that, etcetera, etcetera.
