A Hero Is a Sandwich

AITOOW doesn't get how a victim becomes a hero? The Captain of that ship that allowed his ship to be boarded by "pirates" is what passes as a hero today? What is wrong with a society that uses pity as the measure of achievement? Heros are measured by accomplishments not perserverance. He may deserve our sympathy as a victim. But, he is not a hero. A hero would have fought off the pirates on his own. He just followed protocol. The Seals are the heros.
