U Kraint Stop Me Now

AITOOW has some observations/questions on what is going on in and around Ukraine? First, doesn't it seem like the coverage/punditry is exceedingly/comicly partisan? I don't really believe the grandstanding about what a fiasco it is for Russia. It just smells off. Like how they are shading everything these days. From the epedemic of police brutality, to peaceful protests to Joe Biden's 20 point lead, it just seems out of touch with reality/logic/statistics. Is it what the media always does in times of war? I guess they gave "patriotic" accounts in every war so far (except Iraq and Afghanistan). Was it always patriotism or lack of access? Is it that we now have a white boogie man again? And the "coverage" (like most of their content now) seems "borrowed" from other sources. It just punditry voiced over things they cut and paste from the internet. More journalistic laziness. The social media-ization/blogosphering/millenializing of journalism. No boots on the ground. No investigative journalism. And do they really beieve the simplistic conclusion that Putin is a mad man? I'll never get if they believe this about people who do things they disagree with or if it is just purposeful character assassination (like they do to win an argument they don't have the law or facts on). Secondly, if we confiscate Russian property, won't they just do the same to ours? Nationalize all foreign assets? I'll bet we have alot more at stake. And what legal basis is there for it? More unbridled governmental overreach. Not that aren't already doing that to Americans. At least they claim some legal justification in those cases. Thirdly, will other oil producing nations be emboldened by the spike in oil prices to cause chaos in the future? And do we have some secret deal with Iran to fill the void if we embargo Russia? Is this any better? I know the Obama mafia thinks so. Why they love Iran, I have no idea. I'll ignore the unwillingness to increase domestic production issue. Fourthly, why would we want to expand NATO if we (and they) are unwilling (and we are) to fight any serious challenger anyway? You know that is the truth. Neither Biden nor Trump noe you or I really want to fight another war. The "fence sitters" (Finland/Sweden) don't really deserve it anyway. And I love them both. Fifthly, why are Dems so good at pointing out their own hurt feelings and remedies and so bad at crafting them for others? If it is a failure for Putin, he must be given a way to save face. Everybody is so sensitive these days. Even mad men. Maybe more so you arm chair psychologists. They need to figure out a way to let him exit without losing face or power. Or he will NEVER leave. Figure out what silly story you would give to a similar pariah. Like say, Simone Biles or Naomi Osaka or Ben Simmons. Let him claim social injustice or body shaming or molestation gave him mental health issues. I'd think we would want a more timid man in power anyway. Let him stay. Lastly, is Ukraine getting more or less attention in the news because it a war with white victims? Is it racist coverage (like when they cover a missing white woman) or is there less coverage because it isn't a racist war. Just white on white crime. Or a quandry because it has a white bad guy but only white victims. Discuss. Is there any minority population group in Ukraine? Do women get equal pay?
